William Bryson III (1952 - 2012)

William James Bryson III, 60, was born Jan. 10, 1952 to the late William James Bryson Jr. and Gwendolyn Saunders Moten in Gastonia, N.C. and transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son, DeAnte Wil-son.
William, affectionately called "Billy" or "Wild Bill" was a graduate of Ashbrook High School Class of 1971 in Gastonia, N.C. and attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. where he was inducted into the Groove Phi Groove Organization. At an early age, he joined Epworth United Methodist Church. He was formerly employed by NC Mutual Life Insurance Company, USAir and Jos A Bank. Billy was a lover of sports; however, baseball and golf were his niche.
To cherish his memories, Billy leaves Vivian M. Bryson (wife) Charlotte, N.C.; children, Mark L. Bibbs (Jennifer) Wilson, N.C., Marshelle B. Washington (Thomas) Raleigh, N.C., Simone F. Bryson Orangeburg, S.C., and William J. Bryson IV Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Wyndaline B. Russell (James) Charlotte, N.C. and Emily B. Davis Gastonia, N.C.; brothers, Anthony G. Bryson Sharpsburg, Ga. and Juarez D. Moten (Julie) Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Caroline and Lilly Bibbs Wilson, N.C.; aunts, Doris S. Holland, Ann S. Velazquez, Brenda S. Brown (Conard); uncles, James E. Saunders Sr.(Julia), Carroll B. Saun-ders and Alfred B. Saunders; great uncle, Howard L. Erwin; special friend, Jenney Tuccio; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Miller; nephews, Dustin Bryson, Jarrod Russell, Blair Bryson, Byron Bryson and Julian Moten; nieces, Janna N. Russell and Lauren Moten; great nieces, Daija Russell and Destiny Bryson; great nephew, Blair Bryson Jr.; very special cousins, Maurice Holland, Vicki Kendrick and Kenneth Holland; a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1029 Vancouver Lane, Gastonia, NC 28052 during their bereavement and immediately following the service.
Memorial service to celebrate Billy's life is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at Epworth United Methodist Church.
