William Edgar "Dobie" Kale Jr., 52, of 2335 Meadow Road, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Mercy Carolinas Specialty Hospital, Char-lotte, N.C.

Mr. Kale was born June 3, 1960, in Gastonia, N.C., to Carolyn Chris-tenbury Kale North and the late William Edgar Kale Sr. He was of the Baptist faith and served as secretary of the Private Caldwell Camp 31, Sons of Confederate Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his father, William E. "Bud" Kale Sr.; and stepfather, Norman E. North.

Survivors are his mother, Caro-lyn Kale North; sister, Kristen Kale; brother, Jonathan Kale (Meagan), all of Clover, S.C.; nephews Nick and T.J.; his beloved niece, Lillian Kathryn "Lilli" Kale; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012, at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 209 N. Main St., Clover, S.C., with the Private Caldwell Camp 31, Sons of Confederate Veterans officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
