KINGS MOUNTAIN - William Norwood Macon Sr., 78, passed away June 13, 2012, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Macon was born in Bladen County on March 23, 1934, son of the late Sherman Macon and Annie Settlemyre Macon. He was retired from Duke Power.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Ann C. Macon of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, William Norwood Macon, Jr. and Teresa, Anthony Jay Macon and Teresa, and James David Brock and wife Rebecca; two daughters, Beth Dye and husband D.W. and Kim Carawan; three brothers, Terry Macon and wife Nellie, Bobby Macon, and Milton Macon and wife Cindy; one sister, Anne Melvin and husband Pat; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a very special cat, Miss Kitty.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Macon and a sister, Frances Owen.
Visitation will be from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cherryville.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Brooks officiating.
