BESSEMER CITY - William R. "Bill" Robinson, 84, passed away June 3, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 27, 1927, in Honea Path, South Carolina, son of the late Howard and Lilly Mae Moon Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a retired Building Contractor who owned Edgewood Townhouse Apartments and Son Sound Recording Studios.
He was a retired minister who had also written several books. "Bill" also served in the US Merchant Marines.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City officiated by the Revs. Scott Whitener and "Dick" Whitener.
The family will receive friends 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home, 104 Bright Ave., Bessemer City, NC 28016.
Mr. Robinson is survived by: his loving wife, Nancy Pennington Robinson; son Michael R. Robinson and wife Carolyn of Bessemer City; brother, Ed-gar Ray Bridgeman of Bessemer City; sisters, June Stutts of Cramerton, Louise Burchfield, of Gastonia; grandchildren, Richard E."Ritchie" Robinson, Holly Blanton and husband Jon; great grandchild, Rylie Blanton all of Bessemer City.
