GASTONIA - Wilma Harrill Allen, 96, of 1351 Robinwood Road, died Aug. 16, 2008, at Covenant Village.

She was a native of Greenville County, S.C., the daughter of the late Henry Fletcher and Dora Elizabeth Sutton Harrill.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lakeshore Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Chaplain Martha Baker and Dr. Harry Shutte officiating. The viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Monday at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
Ms. Allen was an accomplished artist, a longtime resident of Covenant Village and a member of First ARP Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her stepson, Neal C. Allen Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; beloved niece, Audrey Jackie Powell of Lakeland, Fla.; great-niece, Carmen Arana of Lakeland, Fla.; cousins, Robert Gaston of Hickory, Ed and Jo Henry of Hickory, Jim and Joyce Skinner of Hickory, Ted Grayson of Shelby, Ken and Helen Grayson of Shelby; and a special friend, Carol Lowry of Gastonia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Neal C. Allen; and her niece, Betty Harrill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
