MOUNT HOLLY - Thomas Curtis Broome Jr., 77, of 265 Kem Lane, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Cabarrus County, son of the late Thomas Curtis Broome Sr., and Grace Baker Broome.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Broome; two sisters, Elizabeth Cochran and Mildred Terry; four brothers, Donald, Doyle, Larry, and Benny Broome.
Mr. Broome is survived by his wife, JoLynn Anthony Broome; one daughter, Tammy Barnes of Mount Holly; one sister, Peggy Bingham of Lowell; three grandchildren, Gina Jones, John Warren, Douglas Warren and wife Mandy all of Mount Holly; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Jones, Marty Jones, Alexis Warren, and Curtis Warren; son-in-law and best friend of over 30 years, Doug Warren of Charlotte.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Broome, will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at the Woodlawn Chapel, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Hill-crest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
