STANLEY - Bobby Virdon Bingham, 77, of 521 Summerow Road, died Thursday, March 15, 2012.

He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Jonnie Albert and Cecil McMillian Bingham.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 56 years, Zelma Smith Bingham. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Ray Bingham, and a son-in-law, John Bailey.
He was retired from Duke Energy. He was a former member of the Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of Stanley CD Rescue.
He is survived by son, John Bingham, and his wife, Betty, of Stanley; daughter, Janice Bailey of Linnwood; brothers, Ted Bingham and wife, Irma, of Truman, Ark., and Woody Bingham and wife, Frances, of Gastonia; sisters, Mildred Howard and husband, Ken, of Kings Mountain, Brenda Whitworth of Ranlo, and Judy Gray and husband, Ted, of Brunswick, Ga.; sister-in-law, Pat Bingham of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Brittany and Anna Bing-ham, Quincy Long and Misty Gomez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bingham will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Dr. Danny Penny officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
