GASTONIA - James E. Galloway, 86, of Gastonia went home to be with his Lord and Savior Oct. 6, 2012, at his residence.

He was a native of Gaston County, born May 31, 1920, to the late John E and Nettie Pearl McGinnis Galloway.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ralph Galloway; and a sister, Hattie Maddox.
James was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Fraley Memorial Baptist Church where he was very active; he also served as Deacon for many years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was a dear and loyal friend to all; and he was a man of character.
James truly loved the Lord.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Martha Neal Galloway; daughters, Nalene Hall, Rachel Hamilton and husband Luke; and a son, James N. Galloway and wife Jeri; grandchildren, Steven and Christine Queen, Lanny and Pam Queen, Sondra and Shane Caughey, Jamie and Kim Queen, Wendy Hamilton, Mackenzie Price, Heather Boykin, Brandon and Ashley Jolly, Stephanie Costner; great-grandchildren, Brittany Queen, Tyler Queen, Libby Queen, Alexandria Caughey, Dakota Caughey, Scott Queen, Jamie Lee Queen, Caramia Boykin, Harper Jolly, Ethan Costner, Devan Costner and Hayleigh Costner
Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Warren Dole officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum D with Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Shane Caughey, Steven Queen, Lanny Queen, Jamie Queen, Richard Usik, Larry Maddox and Darrell Galloway
