STANLEY - Josephine Perkins Armstrong, 91, died Jan. 5, 2013, at Stanley Total Living Center.
She was born in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Jordan and Ida Ewing Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel T. "Bud" Armstrong; a brother, Clyde Perkins; and two sisters, Louise Drum and Margie Hall.
She was retired from J.P. Stevens in Stanley and was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Lawing and husband Steve of Stanley, Shiela Huskins and husband Alan of Supply; five grandchildren, Julie H. Lock and husband John, of Concord, Calif., Laura Huskins of San Francisco, Calif., Callie Huskins of Athens, Ga., Steve Lawing Jr. and wife Sharon and their daughter Allie Lawing of Stanley, Jared Lawing and wife Becky and their Sons Daniel and Zachary of Dallas.
A funeral service conducted by Pastor Bo Osborne will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens.
Memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church, 527 North Buckoak St, Stanley, NC 28164; or to Stanley Total Living Center, 514 Old N.C. 27, Stanley, NC 28164.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Stanley Total Living Center for their love and care of Mom for the last 18 years.
