GASTONIA - James R. W. "Trey" McQuage, 44, passed away at his residence on June 15, 2013.

He was born June 14, 1969, in Kings Mountain and is the son of Danny and Kathy McQuage Cochran.
Trey was a graduate of Ashbrook High School, where he excelled on the football field and was the receipient of a ASU Football Scholarship at Appalachian State University. He was selected to play in the East-West All Star Football game in 1987. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Beech Avenue Baptist Church. Trey was a former employee of Buckeye Fire Equipment Company, Kings Mountain.
Trey is survived by his mother and father, Kathy and Danny Cochran of Gastonia; two sons, Stephan Trey McQuage of Charlotte and Christian James McQuage of Grover; one brother, Donavon Shane Cochran of Gastonia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Leo Kuykendall and Luther Carver officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Military Honors will be provided by Gaston County Honor Guard.
There will be no visitation.
Trey's family has requested for his friends to join them at Zion Baptist Church to celebrate "Trey's" life.
