Mildred "Sandy" McDonald, 70, died peacefully at home on Feb. 21, 2014.

She was born June 15, 1943, in Gaston County, to the late Clyde Hunter Stone and Mabel Sherrill Adair.

Mildred was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, Phillip McDonald, two sisters, Joan Stone and Betty Gladden, brother, James Mason Stone and her son, Christopher Lee Gosnell.

She will forever be loved by those of us that are left behind. She is survived by her two daughters, Julie Escobar and Dana Grant, both of Gastonia, her sister Judy Osment of Kings Mountain, brother Clyde "Junior" Stone of Gastonia; grandchildren, Darlene Webb, Brandon Gosnell and his wife, Mary Beth Gosnell, Kimberly Gosnell, Zachary Escobar, Autumn Grant, Adela Escobar and Peyton Grant, two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Adrian McDaniel.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Holland Memorial Baptist Church, 123 Holland Memorial Church Road.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
