CHARLOTTE - Frances Jean Nichols, 88, passed away March 12, 2014, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Charlotte.

She was born March 7, 1926 in Gaston County, daughter of the late, Bassie Roland and Amanda Stiles Rogers.
Frances was a member of Unity Baptist Church of Gastonia for over 60 years where she was the former treasurer for the Sun Shine club. She was a devout volunteer for the Gaston Organization for the Blind. Frances retired after 41 years from Dixie-Ti Caro. She had a love for nature, flower gardens and song birds.
The family would like to show their appreciation for Pastor Roger Mathis of Unity Baptist Church, Betty Simms of Dallas and the Levine Dick-son Hospice for their love and support.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date by the family.
Frances is survived by: son, Jeff Nichols and wife, Melodie of Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Nichols of Marietta, GA; sister, Grace Clontz of Murphy, NC; grandchildren, Stewart Carlisle and Laura Huenink of Marietta, GA; great-grandchildren, Erin and Justen Huenink and Taylor and Brooke Carlisle all of Marietta, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Howard D. Nichols of 63 years and son, Chuck Nichols.
