KINGS MOUNTAIN - Ruby Hipp Smith, 91, passed away April 28, 2014, at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain.

She was the daughter of the late E. J. Brown and Zora Gowens Brown.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Hipp; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Hipp; and sister, Essie Campbell. She was a member of Christian Freedom Baptist Church and retired from the textile industry.

Survivors include her sons, Jim Hipp and wife Eleanor, Gaffney, S.C., Terry Hipp, Kings Mountain; brother, Dr. Ed Brown; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Christian Freedom Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Chambers and Sam Snyder. officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, prior to the service in the sanctuary of Christian Freedom Baptist Church.

Interment will be at Little Mountain Baptist Church, Wellford, South Carolina.
