GASTONIA - Dan Wilson Dickson, 79, died April 30, 2014, at Robin Johnson Hospice House.

He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Frank Wilson and Nell Good Dickson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Ida Cromer Dickson, brother, William Reid Dickson, and a sister, Mary Ann Hauss.
Dan worked with Akers Motor Lines and Carolina Freight where he retired. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Fraley Memo-rial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Scotti Schulz, Jenny Dickson; step daughters, Rhonda Helms and husband Daniel, Gina Holbrooks and hus-band David, Talena Kay Foster; brother, Edward Neal Dickson; sisters, Martha Louise Walsh, Lu Dickson Little; brother-in-law, Bill Cromer and wife Dorothy; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and lifelong friend, Don Lawing.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas L. Holbrooks Jr., Dr. Rev. Warner Doles and the Rev. Charles Keller officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
