Charles Garrison Sarvis, 89, of Gastonia, passed away May 2, 2014, at Gaston Place.

He was born Dec. 6, 1924, native of Gaston County, son of the late Kelly and Arra Sarvis.

He was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran.

Charles is survived by: son, Gary Sarvis; brother, Ralph Gary Sarvis; sister, Jean Cox; grandchildren, Todd Sarvis, Kimberly Sarvis; great grandchild, Austin Sarvis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Sarvis.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel - 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Sydnor Thompson.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
