GASTONIA - Frances Dellinger Spencer, 91, passed away May 27, 2014, at Morningside Assisted Liv-ing.

She was a native of Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Ellis Streetford and Bertha Mae Jones Dellinger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of forty seven years, William Howard Spencer and brothers, Carroll and Edgar Dellinger.

Frances was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Lowell. She was a teacher and principal with the Gaston County Schools, an NCAE active member and member of other teacher organizations. Frances loved to read and travel but her passion was children and teaching school.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne Spencer, Barre Spencer and wife Kay, David Spencer; daughter, Da-rinda Fredricksen and husband Skip; brothers, Dwight Dellinger and wife Jean, Harry Dellinger; sister, Joy Botts; sisters-in-law, Helen Foy, Ruth Hunt; brother-in-law, Sheldon Spencer; grandchildren, Scott Fredricksen and wife Susan, Dana Bouque and husband Jason, Jay Fredricksen, Tina Fowler, Kristy Grif-fin and husband Joe, Samantha Beck and husband Jackie, Kassie Heath and husband Billy, Hope Spen-cer; eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family committal service will be held at Pisgah ARP Church Cemetery 9 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014.

A visitation will be held from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the Parlor of The Presbyter-ian Church of Lowell with a service to follow at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Tabor officiating.
