LINCOLNTON - Kenneth "Ray" Dodgin Sr., 74, of 1289 Huckleberry Drive, passed away June 3, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with the Rev. Stanley Spence officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Dodgin was born Feb. 16, 1940, to the late Jim Dodgin and Sarah Jenkins Dodgin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Harrison Dodgin of the home; two sons, Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Dodgin, Jr. and wife, Ginger of Lincolnton and Everett Porter and wife Debbie of Illinois; one daughter, Kimberly Elaine Dodgin of Lincolnton; two sisters, Brenda Dodgin Current of Lincolnton; Judy Dodgin Smith and husband George of Lincolnton. Ray is also survived by four step-sons, Ernie Knight and wife, Julia of Longs, South Carolina, Roger Knight and wife, Rochelle of Lakeland, Florida, John Knight of Win-ston Salem, North Carolina and Steve Knight of Mountain City, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ray was loved dearly by his family and had many friends. Before he retired, he was a well known local businessman and owner of Dodgin's, Inc. in Lincolnton. He was an avid sportsman who loved golf and especially loved fishing.
