KINGS MOUNTAIN - Clinton Price Rankin Jr., 75, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on June 6, 2014, at Kings Mountain Hospice House.

A native of Gastonia, he was son of the late Clinton Price Rankin Sr. and Jennie Elizabeth Mayes Ran-kin.
Clint attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, subsequently enlisting in the US Army where he served for 3 years.
His business career was in the banking and insurance industry. He was an active member of his church. He was also very involved in his community, including the Jaycees, Gaston County Recreation Department, Boy Scouts and he was a member of The Gaston Shaggers. He loved music, shagging, playing golf and his Tar Heels. Clint was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to many. His three grandsons were his pride and joy.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain with Pastor Josh Tucker officiating.
Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia and also prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Buchanan Rankin; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Charlotte Rankin of Camden, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Timmons and Paul Hason of Ft. Worth, Texas; grand-children, Hunter and Parker Rankin and Christian Hason.
