GASTONIA - Dorothy "Dot" Davis Bridges, 90, passed away June 20, 2014, at Gaston Health Care and Rehab, 416 North Highland Street, Gastonia.

She was a native of Gaston County, born Oct. 11, 1923, to the late Lois Farmer Davis and Sidney R. Da-vis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Roberts Bridges, and daughter, Robin Paulett Bridges.
Mrs. Bridges worked on the Manhattan Project (uranium-separating facility), Oakridge, Tennessee dur-ing World War II.
She retired from Sears of Gastonia. After retirement she worked part-time at Rite Aid. She loved flower gardening. She was a member of Myrtle United Methodist Church, Gastonia, NC.
Survivors include daughter, Janice B. Short of Gastonia; brother, Larry Davis of Gastonia; grandson, James (Jamey) Paul Wright and wife, Jaclyn H. Wright of Chiswick, London; great-granddaughter, Ruby Presley Wright and great-grandson Beau Davis Wright of Chiswick, London.
Family and friends of Mrs. Bridges are invited to attend her visitation beginning 1 p.m. Friday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with her funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in Founders Chapel. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
