Gastonia-Maude Gray Rector Hannah, 91, passed away peacefully June 28, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born April 1, 1923 in Jefferson County, Tennessee to the late Robert Brank and Jennie Gray Rector.
She was a woman of great faith in Jesus Christ. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Rueben, Otto and Arville Rector; four sisters, Gypsy Montgomery, Lucille Jackson, Evelyn Brendle and Rose Mayne; and son-in-law, Bob Parker.
Survivors include daughters Barbara Parker, Gail Anthony and husband Rick, Sheila Foster and husband Fred, son Dick Hannah and wife Shauna, all of Gastonia; grandchildren, Rob Parker and wife Chanel, Jeff Parker, Angela A. King and husband Scott, Rickey Anthony, Shan F. Schultz and husband Justin, Lori F. Watson and husband Kyle; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Barbara R. Helton and Jennie R. Burgess; many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the nurses from Courtland Terrace who helped us care for her the past three years. We would also like to thank Gaston Hospice and the 5th Floor South staff at CaroMont Regional Medical Cen-ter.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at McLean Funeral Directors in Gastonia with Rev. Dick Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at McLean Funeral Directors in Gastonia.
