BESSEMER CITY - Betty P. Brooks, 76, passed away July 17, 2014 at her home.

She was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Orville Plemmons and Evie Sellers Plemmons.

Mrs. Brooks was a member of Bright Light Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a lov-ing, devoted and forgiving wife, mother and grandmother, who was a prayer warrior especially for her family and others.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Bright Light Baptist Church, Bessemer City, officiated by the Rev. James Drennan

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia.

Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by: Her loving husband of 59 years, David D. Brooks; daughters, Teresa Moss of Gastonia, Sonya Dixon and husband Billy of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Jennifer Costner, Daniel Moss, Brandon Dixon; great-grandchild, Blayk Moss; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: daughter, Robin Brooks Hickman; two broth-ers; three sisters.

Memorials may be sent to Bright Light Baptist Church Building Fund 112 White Jenkins Rd., Bessemer City, NC 28016.
