GASTONIA - Annie Sue Whitesides Ferguson Rhyne, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2014, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

She was born in York County, S.C., daughter of the late Robert C. Whitesides and Mary Irene Moss Whitesides. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Ralph Zadock Ferguson, A. Leonard Rhyne; daughter, Gail Ferguson Sherrill; sisters, Louise Wickstead and Sarah Hipp, one step-son, the Rev. Bill Rhyne.

Sue retired from Sears as an office supervisor in the catalog department with over twenty six years of service. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, a Sunday school bible teacher, a leader and member of Circle of Peace, Hospital Visitation team, Church office volunteer for over eight-een years, a member of the Gaston Memorial Hospital Auxillary for twenty years , and a member of the American Bible Society for over sixty years. Sue was a very giving lady who loved her family and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughters and spouses, Janet and Roy Redding, Sandi and Dave Henderson, and Diane Jacobs; son, Stephen Ferguson; stepsons, A. Leonard Rhyne Jr., and Ben Rhyne; grandchildren, Jeff Redding, Jon Henderson, Jody Waters, Jennie Gilmer, Tim Jacobs, Mark Ferguson, Billy Ferguson, Emily Murdock, Dana Hartness, Chris Redding, Josh Sherrill, and Justin Sherrill; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with the Revs. Kitty Ran-kin and Braxton East officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be after the service in Bethany ARP Church Cemetery Hwy 161 N. Clover, SC 29710.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 805 South York St. Gas-tonia, NC 28052 and Hospice of Gaston County, PO Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054.
