GASTONIA - Carrie Mae Drewery Hogan, 91, died Aug. 6, 2014, at her home at Gaston Manor.

She was born May 19, 1923 in Ellenboro, one of four daughters to the late Charles and Pearlie Grant Drewery.

Mrs. Hogan was a homemaker, worked for Sherrill Industries until retirement, and volunteered for many years with the Red Cross.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Gastonia. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed traveling and sharing her wonderful sense of humor.

Survivors of Mrs. Hogan include her children and spouses, Brenda and Nick Stevenson of Foley, Ala.; William Floyd Jr. and Pamela Hogan of Spartanburg, S.C.; Bobby Ray and Deborah L. Hogan of Cornelius; Jackie Dean and Jackie F. Hogan of Lake Wylie, SC; sisters, Mildred Costner of Kings Mountain, NC; Monie Thomas of Charleston, SC; Jean Crocker and husband Gant of Gaffney, SC; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Floyd Hogan in 1966.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday at Gaston Memorial Park with Pastor Josh Glandon officiating.
