BELMONT - Leslie "Elwyn" Davidson, 85, passed away Aug. 10, 2014, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was the son of the late John Erskin and Eva Meeks Davidson.
He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Elwyn retired from the Belmont Police force after 30 years of service. He traveled every state except Hawaii. Elwyn enjoyed going on multiple mission trips to Romania including Alaska. Elwyn was proud to achieve being a certified Master Gardener. Yard work was his passion.
Survivors include, sons, Leslie Davidson and wife, Renee, George Davidson and wife, Vicki; daughter, Denise D. Wilson; brother, Elmer Davidson; grandchildren, Matthew Davidson, Elizabeth Wilson, Christopher, Samantha and Zachary Davidson; Great-Granddaughter, Kaia Davidson.
A celebration of life service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday in the Bumgardner Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont with Bishop Roger Wentz officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, Elwyn was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Lee Davidson, second wife, Jean Davidson; brothers, Royce and Charles Davidson.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to Gaston County Law Enforcement Agency.
