Ruby Blanton Obituary
A native of Rutherfordton County, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Molly Hollifield Blanton.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park.
The Rev. Jim DuMond will be officiating.
Visitation will from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her nieces, Judy Harper Lucas and husband Claude of Shelby and Darlene Harper of Gastonia, and nephew, John Harper of Nashville, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sherman Blanton and Clyde Blanton; sister, Melrose Harper; niece, Doris Thomas; and nephew, Thomas Harper.

Dear Darlene and family,
I had the pleasure to meet Ruby and have prayer with her while she was in the hospital. I could tell she was one of a kind! I know you will miss her so much.
Please know you will continue in my prayers in the days and weeks to come. Thank God that we can claim the resurrection promise that assures us that you will be reunited with Ruby again in heaven one day.
