CLOVER, S. C. - Ronald Jay McPherson, 57, of Clover, S. C., died April 14, 2009, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Gaston County, son of the late J. Q. and Betty Jo Whitesides McPherson.

Mr. McPherson retired from Continental Express Trucking Company, Little Rock, Ark. He attended New Vision Family Worship Cen-ter, Gastonia and served his country in the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Wall McPherson; one daughter, Melissa Blye and husband George of Lawndale, N.C., one son, Jamie McPherson of Lincolnton; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Lineback and husband Mike Johnson of Rock Hill, S.C., Melody Haas of Blacksburg, S.C., one stepson, Cecil Haas and wife Diane of Orlando, Fla., one brother, Eddie McPherson and wife Sandra of Gastonia, one sister, Debbie Biddix and husband Jeff of Gastonia; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special mother-in-law, Verlena Carter of Bowling Green, S.C.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Vision Family Worship Center with the Rev. James Terry officiating.

Burial will be private at a later date.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

The family request that memorials be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, N.C. 28054.

Florist may deliver flowers to New Vision Family Worship Center, 271 Grissom Road, Gastonia at 1:00 P. M. Saturday
