GASTONIA – Doris Bolin "Maw Maw" Hayes, 84, died July 8, 2010, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Anderson County, S.C., daughter of the late John Lowry and Mae Eugenia Gossett Bolin.
Mrs. Hayes retired from Southern Railway. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she worked at Moms Morning Out for a number of years and was known as "Maw Maw" to many children and parents.
She is survived by two sons: Harry Lee Hayes III and wife Amy of St. Louis, MO, David Hayes and wife Cathey of Gastonia, daughter: Penny Galop and husband John of Lake Wylie, S.C, brother Thad Bolin of Gastonia, eight grand-children: Trey White, Melissa White, Shelley Spells, Wendy Hayes, David Hayes Jr. Alexander "Mac" Hayes, Kyle Kammien, Cole Kammien, and six great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Harry Lee Hayes Jr.; two brothers, Dr. Lewis Bolin, John Bolin, two sisters: Ruby Boren, and Ruth Justice.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church 2650 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054 with the Dr. Ray Ammons officiating.
Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
