KINGS MOUNTAIN - Ray Arnold Warlick, 76, of 1338 Mary's Grove Church Road, entered into eternal rest peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2010, at his residence.

Ray was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Cleveland County a son of the late Albert Wilburn and Lillie Victoria Owens Warlick. He was retired from Winn-Dixie as a retail produce manager after 40 years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of N.C. National Guard and Mary's Grove United Methodist Church. Ray loved to grow produce for family and friends. He spent his days at his nephew Quay Howell's shop with many of his best friends. Ray was known for his quiet witty sense of humor.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife Sarah Ann Van Dyke Warlick; one brother, J.W. Warlick; and one sister, Bertie W. Howell; two brothers-in-law, J.F. Howell and Ervin Wright; and nephew, Gerald Howell.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Nettie W. Wright of Kings Mountain; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Hollar and the Rev. Dr. Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m., prior to the service. The family will be at the home of Quay and Judy Howell. Feel free to drop by and share memories you have of Ray.
