MOUNT HOLLY - Mildred Lee Broome Terry, 84, of 523 Rankin Ave., died Saturday, June 11, 2011.

She was born in Union County, daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Grace Baker Broome.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Terry; one son, Randall Morris; one sister, Elizabeth Robinson; four brothers, Donald Broome Sr., Doyle Broome, Lonnie Lyvnn (Benny) Broome, and Larry Kenneth Broome.
Mrs. Terry and her late husband R.J. were the original owners of Terry's Bright Star Restaurant. She was a member of the Mount Holly Church of God.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Terry Thompson of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Rebecca Wooten Anderson and husband Tommy of Charlotte, Amy Wooten Thornburg and husband Eric of Gastonia, and Jason Amuel Terry of Mount Holly; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Katelynn and Sarah Anderson, Emma and Ardyn Thornburg, and Luella Terry; one sister, Peggy Bingham of Lowell; and one brother, Curtis Broome, Jr. of Mount Holly.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Terry will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Mount Holly Church of God with the Rev. Dennis Bean officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7–9 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
