GASTONIA - Carrie Stowe Lipscomb, 81, of 934 Canterbury Court, died Nov. 6, 2012, at Brian Center, Gastonia.

A native of York County, she was the daughter of the late Haskel McCollough and Delcine Stowe.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Restoration Church, Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at the church and other times at the home of Fred and Zola Lipscomb, 1026 Newcastle Road, Gastonia.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

She is survived by her devoted son, Fred Lipscomb Jr. (Zola); grandchildren, Migell Lipscomb (Maressa), Jarret Lipscomb and Corbin Lipscomb; great-grandchildren, Leonard Ellis, Michael Littlejohn, Javis Littlejohn, Cameron Pagan, Tenesha Lipscomb, Kori Lipscomb, Mia Lipscomb, Jada Lipscomb, Corista Lipscomb, and Zoriah Lipscomb; six great-great-grandchildren.

The family sends a special thanks to Brian Center staff and residences that she befriended for the love and care that was shown to her during her stay. We would also like to thank Shirley Love, Andy Burris, Howard Patton, Margaret Roseboro, Wadell and Kathy Brown, Arista Lipscomb, Lawrence "Doc" McColough and many others that stood by her during her time of sickness.

Costner Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
