Juanita Hall

On Oct. 9, 1928, Juanita Delores Hall was born to the Late Henry and Hattie Hall in Montgomery, Ala. She departed this list on Nov. 22, 2012, in Deca-tur, Ala., where she and her late husband, Ira L. Turner lived.

Juanita accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was nurtured and developed at Ebeneezer AME Zion Church in Montgomery, Ala. She attended Montgomery's Industrial School for Girls. Rosa Parks also attended this school. She received the Bachelor of Science Degree and the Mas-ter of Arts Degree in Education from Alabama State Teachers College in Montgomery.
Juanita was blessed with the gift of writing and reciting. She has an insatiable desire for reading and always stressed its importance to our daily lives. She taught in Decatur's public schools for 38 years. She worked in California for the United States
Navy, as an inspector and traveled abroad to Germany and other countries.

She and her husband started Turner's Funeral Home, a service created for the community. She was recognized by the city of
Decatur. This honor was accomplished by naming the community center after her.
