GASTONIA - Terry Dove McDaniel, 55, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital while surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

She was born on Jan. 12, 1957, daughter of the late Mary Lumpkin Herrin and mother of the late Barbara McDaniel.
She attended Cramerton High School and worked a wide variety of jobs until finding her passion caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Terry will be greatly missed by all, but especially her family. She was a devoted daughter, mate, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Survivors include her mate of 17 years, Rob Rhyne of Gastonia; son, Charles Jason McDaniel and wife Brittany of Stanley; daughter Jessica McDaniel and partner Mark Brooks of Dallas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Gary Evans of Gastonia, Sue Kirkpatrick and partner Mick Poole of Blacks-burg, S.C., Sheila and Kenny Mason of Clover, S.C., grandchildren, Ashleigh Stone, Jonathan Lowe and Tyler Stanley.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Ward Funeral Service, 220 South Broad Street, conducted by Pastor Austin Rammell.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. before the service.
Burial will be private.
