GASTONIA - Roy Lee Johnson, LTCDR, Ret., 85, passed away Feb. 6, 2013, at Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas.

He was a native of St. Clair County, Ala., son of the late Ernest Lee and Lena Callahan Johnson.
Roy retired from the US Navy having served on the USS Yorktown, USS Bauer and the USS Newport News. After retir-ing he was
Vice President of Sales with Oroweat. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge Metro West #927, Birming-ham, Alabama for fifty years.
Survivors of Mr. Johnson include his loving wife of 67 years, Mable Arnold Johnson; son, John Arthur Johnson; brothers, Herman Johnson, Ted Johnson and sisters, Mildred Kendrick, Christine Scribner and Sandra VanZandt.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.
A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with Pastor John Stanley offi-ciating.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday in Cropwell, Ala.
