SHELBY - Margaret Alexander Porter, 92, went to be with her Lord on Feb. 7, 2013. at Givens Health Center of Ashe-ville.
A native of Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late James Forrest and Lula Spivey Alexander.
Mrs. Porter will lie-in-state for friends to view from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. The family will not be present during that time.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friend following the service, at the church, in the Porter Activity Center.
A private burial will be held at Cleveland Memorial Park.
Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.
