MOUNT HOLLY - Allen Rowan Rozzelle, 87, of 2628 Stanley-Lucia Road, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.
He was born in Mecklenburg County, the son of the late Walter Oscar and Mary Spain Rozzelle.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired 30-year member of the Lucia-Riverbend Volunteer Fire Department, and a lifetime member of Cook's Memorial Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John Rozzelle, Fred Rozzelle, and Reid Rozzelle; and one sister, Hazel Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Beatty Rozzelle; a son, Walter Alan Rozzelle and wife Bobbie of Mount Holly; two daughters, Jeanne Rhyne and husband Bob of Denver, and Lynn Cox and husband Ron of Ravenel, S.C.; four grandchildren, Allison Boulware, Luke Rhyne, Gage Rozzelle, and Peyton Rozzelle; and one great-grandchild, Lexi Boulware.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rozzelle will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cook's Memorial Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, with the Rev. T.J. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly is serving the family.
