GASTONIA - Naomi "Nonie" Cooley Marder, 82, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013.

A native of Hendersonville, she was a daughter of the late Fred Lambert Cooley and Lillian Davis Cooley.

Ms. Marder was a member of the Temple Emanuel Sisterhood and volunteered with Gaston Memorial Hospital Aux-iliary.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Marder, of Florida, Tony Marder and wife, Marisa, of Gastonia, and Vicki Marder and husband, Christopher Austin, of Asheville; grandchildren, Brandy Vance and husband, Lex, Russell Marder, Ash-ley Bowman and husband, Cory, Alexander Austin, Elyse Marder and David Marder; and great-grandson, Dru Vance and her former husband, Dr. Gerard Marder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Millicent Cooley Wiener.

A graveside service followed by a time of receiving will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gaston Memorial Park. Dr. Charles Brown will be officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Marisa and Tony Marder on Sunday (today) and Monday evenings beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The family expresses their appreciation to the doctors and staff of Belaire Health Care Center for their loving care and attention over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 205 Regency Executive Park Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217; or to Temple Emanuel, 320 S. South St., Gastonia, NC 28052.
