CLOVER, S.C. - Loyd Marshall Shepard, 66, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.

He was born in Gaston County, the son of the late Loyd Shepard and Frances Bereece Shepard.
Mr. Shepard was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from Crawford Insurance Company as a claims adjuster.
Mr. Shepard is survived by two daughters, Melissa Jones and husband Greg of Hillsborough, Deborah Gault and husband Tony of Gastonia; two brothers, Roger Dale Shepard and wife Dep and Robin Eugene Shepard and wife Carole of Clover; three grandchildren, Stephen Jones and Sarah Jones of Hillsborough, Amanda Lamphear of Gastonia; one great-grandson, Jason Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with Pastor Michael Comer officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with military honors by the U.S. Air Force.
