GASTONIA - Carl Lee Coggins, 90, passed away July 22, 2013, at Courtland Terrace.

He was a native of Jackson County, son of the late David Ransom and Elizabeth Ollie Johnson Coggins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Earl Coggins and David R. Coggins, Jr. and sisters, Davey Marano and Lelia Stamey.
Carl retired from Westvaco in shipping and receiving with 27 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army. He was a member of Firestone Wesleyan Church. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who
will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Doris Moody Coggins; son, Darrell Coggins and wife Tammy; daughter, Peggy Bostic and husband Jerry; sisters, Jean Tilley, Dorothy Dillard, Bonnie Ensley and husband Blaine, Evelyn Coggins, Phyllis Phillips and husband Bryant; grandchildren, Tami Nor-ris and husband Jason, Jeff Bostic and wife Cristi, Kim Bostic-Poole, David Coggins, Jessica Parker and husband Lonnie, Holly Hovis and husband Cor-bin and great grandchildren, Wesley, Spencer and Chandler Norris and Morgan and Taylor Bostic, Gavin and Jaxon Parker and Isaiah Hovis.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at Firestone Wesleyan Church with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with Pas-tor Roger Parsons officiating.
Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park with Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
