GASTONIA - William "Bill" Harrison Seager, 75, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014.

He was born Aug 14, 1938, to parents Kathryn Seager Blockinger and the late Harry Stewart Seager in Hockessin Delaware.

Bill was a proud member of the United States Navy from 1956-1960. Bill found and married the love of his life, Marie Maher on April 4, 1965. Their marriage was one of the few fairy tale romance stories that we all hope to get a glimpse of in our life. Bill and Marie complimented each other in every way and were truly two parts of one whole. She lovingly cared for him over the last few years as he fell victim to the ugly grips of dementia.

Bill retired from the American Douglas Metals company in 2001 and enjoyed doing security work with Wackenhut Security for several years in the uptown area until 2007. He was an active member in St. Michael's Catholic Church and had previously enjoyed being a Eucharistic minister and taking part in many church activities throughout his life.
Bill is survived by wife, Maher Seager of Gastonia; three children and their spouses, Debbie and Randy Killion of Pennsylvania, Theresa and Richard Webster of Gastonia and Joan and Noel Williams of Mount Holly North Carolina. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his mother, Kathryn Seager Blockinger of Pennsylvania, three siblings, Connie Horner, Bonnie Bialcak, and Bob Seager.

He was predeceased by one brother, Harry Seager.

Bill was truly a light to all he met and will be a spirit that lives in each heart that he touched.
