GASTONIA - George E. Baisey, 76, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2014, at his home.

He was born on April 26, 1938, and cared for by his grandparents, the late Oliver and Cora Huffman of Guyandotte, WV.
George spent 23 years in service to his country in the US Navy. He is a retired employee of US Airways, a respected member of the IAMAW Local Lodge 1725 and a Chairman of IAM LL 1725 Retiree Committee.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Delida Baisey; five daughters, Lisa Hagley (Don); Leslie Damon (Gary); Rocksand Shuff (Ewell); Tammy Billings (Kenny); and Leanne Moore (Derek); seven grandchildren, Brad, Carrie, Kristen, Cody, Kaleigh, Mason, and Conner; seven great-grandchildren; one aunt, Louise Huss.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Baptist Church, Cramerton, with the Rev. Allen Lefler officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park with Military Rites performed by the US Navy and Gaston County Honor Guard.
