Arnold Bradshaw Obituary


ALEXIS - Arnold Lee Bradshaw, 77, passed away July 19, 2015, at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.

He was the only child of the late Charlie Robert Bradshaw and Maude Hovis Bradshaw.

Arnold was born May 3, 1938 in Lincoln County and lived in Alexis his entire life. He attended Stanley schools later joining the North Carolina Air National Guard on his seventeenth birthday, May 3, 1955, where he served for 33 years until his retirement on April 30, 1988. There he served as Chief of Mainte-nance of the 145th Communications Flight. He was a man of many talents. Before his full time employ-ment with the ANG, Arnold owned a radio and TV repair shop. After retirement he enjoyed woodwork-ing, small engine repair, raising chickens and gardening. He was also an amateur radio operator (ham radio WA4JTJ). He loved helping others. He will be especially remembered as a caregiver for his moth-er, wife, and brother-in-law Pete. He was a Master Mason with Stanley Masonic Lodge No. 713, also re-ceiving the honorary 33rd Degree in Masonry.
He is survived by sisters-in-law Ellen Ballard and Ailene Friday both of Stanley, and Vivian Hastings and Yvonne Keever (Walt) both of Dallas; aunts Sue Lawing and Ruline Lewis both of Stanley; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Friday Bradshaw.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at Community Baptist Church, 823 Dallas Stan-ley Hwy, Dallas, conducted by the Revs. Matt Seagle and Phillip Tillman. Military services will be provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard. Masonic rites will also be provided.

A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Holly.

Memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church, 823 Dallas Stanley Highway, Dallas, NC 28034.
