I worked for Sgt. Stroup in the S-3 Section of the 6th Missile Battlaion, 60th Artillery (Grafenwoehr, Germany) for six months (late 65 - early 66). He was a true gentleman who treated me very well; we got along great and I remember him well. I just read of his passing and extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I met and spoke with Lester during several motorcycle rallies for veterans both in Cripple Creek and Winer Park. As a vet, his story said much and he was a man of courage and humility. I did not make it down to Cripple Creek last weekend, but saw Lester last year. I would like to pay my respects, but I cannot tell where he will be interred. God Bless you and your family.
