Donetha A. Bullock, age 85, passed away on December 24, 2012 in Potomac Falls, Virginia. Donetha, known to her friends as Donna, was born to the late Harry and Lee Crist on January 8, 1927 in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Saint Joseph's Academy in Prescott, Arizona, and attended Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles. In 1943, at a high school sorority dance in Arizona, she met a young Army Air Corps second lieutenant that was in pilot training-Ralph Bullock, from Hazlehurst, Mississippi. They fell in love and were married before the year was out. Ralph went to war, and Donna went back to school. After Ralph returned from combat in WWII, Donna and Ralph had their marriage blessed (were married again) in the Catholic Cathedral in Springfield, Massachusetts. She and Ralph lived in many locations during his career in the Air Force, including France, Hawaii, Japan, Virginia, Colorado and Texas. During that time, Donna was active in the Officers' Wives Club, and in her church. She also, raised three sons and participated in many civic activities. After their Air Force career, Donna and Ralph established a land development company in the Colorado Springs area. Donna was very active in the Catholic Church, working with the Air Force Academy Cadets, at Cursillo retreats and the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. After retiring, Donna and Ralph lived at Air Force Village in San Antonio, Texas, and then returned to Colorado. After Ralph's death, she moved to Falcons Landing in Potomac Falls, Virginia. Donetha is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Ralph Bullock; and her three sons, Gregory, Stephen and Thomas Bullock. She is survived by her grandchildren, Eric Gregory Bullock and Laura Crist Bullock. Cryptside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven. Online Condolences: ShrineOfRemembrance.com

Knowing Donna was a pleasure and she taught me so much. It has been years since we talked, but she made a lasting impression on my life.
