Cecelia F. "Ci" Maupin, age 81, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs and Security, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Colorado Springs. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, homemaker, and friend and had formerly for many years worked at the Broadmoor Hotel. Cecelia Fay Galbin was born on November 30, 1931 in Trinadad to the late Julian and Mary C. (Martinez) Galbin. She attended Colorado Springs High School and married Edward P. Maupin on June 12, 1953 in Raton, New Mexico. "Ci" enjoyed traveling, bowling, camping, fishing, and will be best remembered for her crazy clothing. She was involved for many years in the Eucharistic Adoration at St. Dominic's. This woman of faith will also be remembered for her generosity and love of family. She is survived by her husband, TSgt Edward P. Maupin, USAF (Ret.); and four children: Anthony Maupin of Granbury, Texas; Hans Peter Maupin of Celina, Ohio; Michelle Maupin of Colorado Springs; and Edward P. Maupin, Jr. (and wife, Inez) of Ellicott, Colorado. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary J. Hopson of Colorado Springs; Virginia L. Vogt (and husband, Bill) of Shawnee, Kansas; and Doloris Purcell of Tom River, New Jersey. She has six wonderful grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Melroy Lopez; and her sister, Lucinda Gutierrez. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5354 S. Highway 85/87, Security, Colorado. Cremation is planned and she will be inurned in the Victory Columbarium at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum. A luncheon reception will follow the Mass at the Church.
