Barbara Jean (Bleumm) Bartlett

On April 20th, Ms. Barbara Jean (Bleumm) Bartlett passed peacefully in her sleep, at age 90, in her residence at Emeritus at Bear Creek, 21st Street, Colorado Springs. Born in 1923, the oldest of four children, Barbara spent her youth in North Hollywood, CA, where she graduated from high school in 1941 and enrolled at UCLA - only to have her education interrupted by World War II. During the war years, she served her country by working at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, CA. Following the war, she took her talents to Hollywood where she became part of the rapidly expanding movie industry, working in film editing and library departments at both Republic and Walt Disney Studios. Following her marriage to the late Robert Bartlett, she moved to Colorado Springs in the late 1950's, where she was an intergral part of this growing community. She became a founding member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, and served with distinction for over 30 years as a volunteer at Penrose-Saint Francis Hospital. Barbara was also an accomplished pianist and vocalist, and used her talents to support a host of charitable and civic fundraising and social events. She was also a wonderful golfer, winning club championships at several local country clubs. She is survived by her sister, Patricia; her brother, Ben; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.
