Daniel Lee Betz

Daniel L. Betz, 58, of Widefield, Colorado passed away after a two year fight with cancer. He was born in Aurora, Colorado June 20, 1954 to Clifton and Betty Jane Betz. He graduated from Saint Mary's High School in 1975. He was married to Carlene Betz (Johnson) July 12, 1975. He joined the Army in 1971. He was a First Sergeant in the Armed Calvary Regiment and retired in 1991. He also worked at Adesa Auto Auction in arbitration, retiring after 17 years. He then decided it was time to get some camping and fishing done with family and friends. Above all else, he loved his family. His wife was his partner and soul mate. His proudest moments were found in his happiness in his marriage to the Love of his life and in helping raise two wonderful kids. He has so much pride in them and their achievements, especially for blessing him with two beautiful grandkids. During his illness their visits are what brought a sparkle to his eyes and a smile to his heart. He is survived by his wife Carlene F. Betz; Son Christopher W. and fiancé Sarah Grandizio; Daughter Danielle M. and husband Jim Currie; Grandson Jeremiah C. Betz and Granddaughter Makaila M. Currie. Brothers John (Dorothy) Betz; Jackie (Deetta) Betz; Michael Betz and Sister Rochella Kramer. Preceded in death by his Father Clifton and Mother Betty Jane Betz. Services will be held 1pm on Dec, 17, 2012 at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80911.
