Donna, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend has left us to join her Creator, who loves her immensely, as do we. Donna cultivated a gracious spirit that grew more lovely with age. She lived a life of purpose, joy, and self-sacrifice. She was a rock for her children. She faced down periods of tumult and uncertainty with determination and an incredible work ethic. Like yesterday, we can remember her saying, "That's why they call it work, guys."
Donna was, from an early age, genuinely interested in the world around her and the people she came to know. Her earnestness and sincerity left a mark on just about everyone she talked with. People were refreshed by her curiosity and care for them. She was an avid gardener, birder, traveler, philatelist, and a consummate reader of just about anything. She could glean insight from the back of a cereal box.
Donna made the world a better place. We are grateful to have known her and be loved by her. In some small way may all of us carry on her legacy of grace.
A remembrance of Donna's life will be held on Friday, March 28th at 10:30 AM at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2505 N. Circle Dr., Colorado Springs. All are invited.
