George Edward Barbour Jr.

Born January 13, 1936 to George and Othelia Barbour in Staunton, Virginia. Due to the loss of his mother at an early age, George was raised by his loving parents, Lenny and Gertrude Franklin, who immediately moved to Manhattan, New York. George joined the Army in 1953. He married his wife, Doris in 1960. They traveled the world with their children: Kimberly, George III (deceased), and Othelia. George retired from the army in 1978 and settled in Colorado Springs where he worked in Penrose Hospital in medical records until his second retirement in 1997. He lived and enjoyed his life with his family and countless friends. He loved to visit with his extended family at Elks Pikes Peak Lodge# 473, where he has been a member since 1979. He was a lover of Kangols, nice shoes, good music, good bbq and would challenge you any day on the grill. A New Yorker at heart, he was a Giants fan. George had a great sense of humor, and everyone who knew him has a funny story to tell when they talk about him. George was called home May 10, 2013. "Eddie Boy," you will be missed. WE LOVE YOU!
