Gordon Foster Misner II

Sgt. Gordon Foster Misner, II, age 23, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on February 22, 2006 in Iraq. He was born on June 1, 1982 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Gordon F. and Charlene (Erny) Misner. He has been a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado since December of 2001. Sgt. Misner was a graduate of Sparks High School in Sparks, Nevada. Gordon loved reading books, playing video games, playing Texas Holdem, darts and working puzzles. He joined the Army on July 5, 2001. He is survived by his wife Christina (Gillen) Misner; three children, Natashia Leonard, Haley Misner and Marisa Misner. Gordon is also survived by his mother, Charlene McCartin of Fernley, Nevada, his father Gordon Misner, Sr. of Ocean City, Maryland; a brother, Leif Olson of Fernley, Nevada, a sister, Kristin Misner of Sparks, Nevada; grandparents, Robert and Christine Erny of Petaluma, California, uncle and aunt, Robert and Mary Fran Erny of Stephenville, Texas; and a niece, Valona Willet of Sparks, Nevada. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Graveside services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock, with Military Honors by Fort Carson Honor Guard.
