Kathleen Bernadette (Murphy) Barker

Kathleen (Kay) Barker peacefully passed away on January 5, 2013 with her family by her side. Kay was born in Dublin, Ireland - the youngest girl of eight children. Kay was a Printer by trade and first immigrated to the United States in 1961, and later as a military wife in 1967. After military time in Germany and the United States, Kay settled to make her home and raise her children in Colorado. She was a vivacious go-getter who loved to dance and bowl. An avid reader, Kay also frequented the library. She loved to dress up for every holiday! Her most favorite outing and many family memories were made at Helen Hunt Falls. Her grandchildren know her as one to speak her mind, to speak the truth, and to play boxing right alongside of them. Kay is preceded in death by two sisters who died of Scarlet Fever; her father Thomas Leo Murphy; mother Elizabeth (Kelly) Murphy; brother Peter Murphy; sister Mary Theresa (Murphy) White; and brother Patrick William Murphy.
